The US Embassy in Senegal hiring a Senior Housing Assistant.

Job description
The position provides high-level administrative support to the S/GSO and Housing Supervisor, and manages the Mission housing program. As Senior Housing Assistant, s/he engages landlords, property managers, high-ranking utilities company authorities and government officials, prepares leases and/or amendments, assists the Housing Supervisor in lease negotiations with landlords, and updates all internal housing documents. S/he coordinates and corresponds with internal customers and external parties to resolve maintenance and repair, other complex housing issues, and residential and Embassy utility service issues.

S/he is responsible for conducting an annual housing market survey. S/he tracks Time and Attendance for the GSO section. S/he directly supervises the Utilities Clerk, who handles connection and disconnection of residential utility services, to include telephone services, and internet services. S/he works with multiple software application systems, to include but not limited to the Real Property Application (RPA) and Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS), and communicates with the Overseas Building Operations (OBO) Desk Officer to ensure Mission housing records are updated and in compliance with the OBO Rental Benchmark Initiative (RBI). S/he also serves as the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for Garbage Collection Services and manages special projects for the S/GSO.

Job requirements

Experience: At least two (2) years administrative experience where the incumbent worked with a variety of entities within an organization is required. Three years’ experience performing project management and/or administrative duties within a government or NGO position is also required.
Education Requirements:
Completion of two years of college/university in general studies is required.

Language: English level IV (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. French Level IV (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. Wolof level III (good working knowledge reading, writing and speaking) is required. (This will be tested.)
Skills and abilities: Excellent organization skills required to efficiently handle a wide range of tasks. Ability to prioritize and use MS Office Suite software programs. Must possess interpersonal skills, customer services skills, and supervisory and management skills to plan efficiently and direct the staff and operations of the Housing subsection.
